Dallas has been up crying for the past 3 nights but last night he didn't sleep at all. I feel so bad for him and don't know what to do. He is having such a hard time pooping that he screams and he poops out hard little balls. But during the day he has been fine it's just a night time. What should I do?? It's so nasty here and I know I should take him to the doc or the er but I have a supository that they gave me last time and I don't really know if I should use it.

Has this been a problem for very long? My daughter used to be like this too, and it was caused by her formula. She started out on Similac Advance with Iron. We changed her to Enfamil Lipil and haven't had this type of problem since. We did try a little bit of prune juice in her bottle before we decided to change her formula. That really got things moving!!

We went through this with Kaylee a couple months ago. We took her to the ER & they gave her a suppository but it didn't help much. I put a little Karo Syrup in her bottles & that finally got things moving, oh & I have her lots of water but I'm not sure if you give Dallas that yet or not? I hope the little man feels better soon!

The first doctor we took Cheyenne to was an fool. He said that iron hadn't been proven to cause constipation in babies and that we didn't need to change her formula. Iron causes constipation in adults, so why wouldn't it in babies???? What a person. We have since got her a regular pediatrician. We tried the isomil for a while too, it didn't help. So we tried the Enfamil and she has done great ever since. I hope you are able to get something figured out and he starts feeling better soon!

Yeah this doc is in a clinic so I don't really know if thatmakes a difference. He seems fine right now, really happy and content but every night when we go to bed it's a whole diff. story ahh I just want my baby to feel better.

Michelle I give him water every once in awhile but I was told you aren't supposed to but I don't see anything wrong with it

if he lays flat maybe try propping him a little, i know when i get a little constipated if i lay down flat it really hurts

and the reason your not supose to give them plain water is their kidneys cant process it yet cause it doesnt have anything in it, plus it fills their tummys and most of the time makes them not want to eat
