Pain And Minor Bleeding During Urination
Posted: 12-31-07 19:47pm

Yesterday I started experiencing very sharp burning pains during urinating and when I wipe there are sometimes a few blood spots on the paper. I am also feeling the need to go to the bathroom more often than I usually do, although I am not urinating much at all when i do go. I am sexually active but I use a condom. The last time I had sex was three days ago. I have experienced this before and it stopped but I am worried since it has happened again. I was wondering what might be wrong with me? Thnak you.

it's probably just a form of a uti or bladder infection. if you are sexually active you are more likely to get them (even if you use a condom) just try to pee and clean up well after sex. when you pee after sex it kind of cleans out the urinary tract. i would go to the doc soon so you can get some antibiotics. make sure you are very careful when having sex while on antibiotics because it can reduce the affects of hormonal birth control (that's how i'm almost 4 months prego! lol) let me know if everything works out okay!

yup, i'd say it's definitely a uti. in terms of sex, some doctors suggest not having intercourse the whole time you're on the antibiotics just to make sure the infection clears. others say as long as all the symptoms are gone then you're fine. but check with your doctor in terms of the antibiotic's effect on hormonal birth control. some antibiotics don't even affect it, but some do. your doctor or pharmacist will be able to tell you if you need to use back up contraception and for how long
