Q: Paraguard Iud for birth control

I am looking into an iud for birth control. I was on YAZ and the pill caused my hair to shed and made me more emotional. I was wondering if any one has suffered any problems while on paraguard iud. Any info would be helpful. Rolling Eyes

Extremely eHealthy

I use PARGARD because it caused my already TREATED depression to worsen, it was like it made my medication worthless.

I have used paragard for 4 years, and love it.

I had horrible heavy periods on the Paragard and changed to the Mirena which I love

I love the paragard thus far. I had it placed about a month ago. The insertion was a bit painful but not unbearable. I then cramped quite a bit for two days but nothing that ibuprofen couldn't handle. I bleed a bit longer (as I had it inserted during my period as recommended). Once my period was over I felt FINE. I didn't spot or cramp after that first period week and I am not having my first period with the paragard and it is completely normal and I am not having any cramping whatsoever.

I personally would recommend paragard at this point to anyone who is interested in long-term birth control!
