Q: Twitching of Head, Shoulders, Legs

When I get stressed my head twitches left and right, shoulders twitch, legs twitch and shake when stressed or nervous. I try to control my head with my neck which just stiffens up and my whole upper body stiffens, actually adds to the twitching. I have had this problem off and on for almost all my adult life, seems to be getting worse with age. Hands tend to shake at times. Not as bad. Some eye twitching also!

My mom seems to have this same problem, for years. She has just accepted it as part of getting older. She has never had it checked by a Dr.
I have been checked for Diabetes, Thyroid, and other disorders through bloodwork. Have not had this checked specifically, yet I am prediabetic, and have mild thyroiditus.

Seems to be affecting my life quality more in social situations, now.

How about some relaxation techniques. Do you know how to breathe properly? What other things happen when you start twitching? Muscle tension can be eased many ways. What exactly is going on IN YOUR BODY?

Twitching of Head, Shoulders, Legs
Thanks,
some relaxation does, help, and I know some breathing, I have tried. I see a Chiropractor/nutritionist has me taking B complex, vitamin C, Fish oil, vitamin E

This has been going on off and on for since teen years. My mother has the same problem, and her brother had it.
Did see a Dr today, says it sounds like familial tremors, which is hereditary and is sending me to a Neuroligist to make sure it is not Parkinsons,
any other insights to this would be appreciated, I would rather take care of this with natural supplements/vitamins, but at this point it is effecting my quality of life.

Wow, Penn. Sorry to hear that these symptoms are effecting your life so much! If I were you, I would seek advice from a nutritionist that specializes in nutritional supplements. Most consult for around $50 an hour. You could lay all your diagnostics on the table and ask for a basic structure of all supplements that might help you. For example, I used to work at a health food store and one of the owners would consult clients 3 times for $100. He set up a food plan for them according to their issues and then followed up with check-ins.

As a side point, I seem to remember that COQ10 helps nerves, but you would need to verify that ...
