Well Carly is 7 weeks old this Thursday and was on the oscillator the first 2 weeks of her life. Then she went to the conventional vent, 2 failed attempts at CPAP ( one was bubble CPAP) and is now back on the oscillator today. She's not done good over the night. They thought maybe RSV but they sent a culture to the lab and it came back negative. Thank God for that! But the x-ray showed white spots on both lungs. They started her on 2 antibiotics today for 48 hours at least, maybe longer if her CBC w/ diff comes back with pneumonia ( hopefully not though) but she does have chronic lung disease and respitory distress syndrome. She has been on low oxygen for such a long time (21-30%) and last night was up to 80% and this afternoon down to 40%. Hopefully this hardship will pass soon and she'll start to excel again.
