I had minor oral thrush, thankfully not huge, but at back of mouth and in throat somewhat.
This is what I did to get rid of it:-
Immediately stopped eating bread, anything with yeast (except the occasional flavoured bag of crisps!), cut out beer, wine, sugar, chocolate, cakes, anything sweetened was much reduced, cut down on cheese, ketchup, and most importantly stress!
Went to health shop: got good quality bacteria tablets which you store in fridge (chewable acidophilus - lacto acido. 90mg, lacto bifi. 25mg combined in one pill) and took 3 to 5 at intervals (not together) daily with a meal but NOT hot water or hot food
and after a few days of seeing no results I also...
took 2 x garlic capsules (equiv to 200mg fresh garlic each)
with breakfast, lunch, dinner
and simultaneously added to my diet...
added fresh from shop garlic clove to soup or meal at least twice a day
and also then...
took good quality multivitamin tablet first thing every morning
and
ate 3 probiotic yogurts a day for 3 days (I recommend Lidl's or Yeo Valley if you live in the UK) although Lidl's has fruit & sugar I think.
I gargled with cider vinegar but didn't find that useful, although I cleaned my tongue with it effectively.
This minor outbreak of oral thrush started to go away 6 to 7 days after taking the good bacteria, and 3 to 4 days after I also introduced the garlic.
The die off of the yeast made me feel a bit unwell, but other than that, no probs.
In my opinion what worked best was the garlic capsules, fresh garlic in my mouth which can 'burn' or tingle in the mouth, and the good bacteria tablets, because I think either the good bacteria tablet eats the yeast or resets the bodies chemistry to make yeast growth hard.
I had had the oral thrush for 6 to 4 weeks before it started to go, but it started to go 7 days after I began the above treatment. Prior to that I'd had some probiotic yogurts only and gargled with that cider vinegar and seen no improvement, in fact more grew.
Some people say something called AZO Yeast (a tablet from health shops) also works, but I don't know of it myself.
I used no medical pharmaceuticals at all in this cure. Just natural stuff.
Hope this helps someone.
Remember, it's a good idea to speak to your doctor to make sure that it is oral thrush and that it is not a symptom of something that needs investigating fully by qualified physicians.
No stress, you can get rid of it, just be patient and then stick to the diet and keep your mouth clean of yeast.
(Might be a coincidence but my outbreak came after I started baking my own bread and perhaps didn't fully bake one so maybe too much yeast on it...)
