Hi, about 15 years ago my sister in law was diagnosed ibs- (irritable bowel syndrome), then about 5 years ago was diagnosed with colitis, and then last year in october colon cancer, they did surgery and said they got it all but because of it affecting 2 of her lymphnoids near the colon she needed chemo, so in december they inserted a port in her chest, and a week later got a styph infection, she is 42 years old, has been in and out of the hospital for 6 months, when she got the staph infection she was put in icu for 1 month they didnt bother to massage her legs so while she was there she lost all use of her legs, and had to be put into a nursing home to get physical therapy, after 6 weeks of that she came home, she looked wonderful, then about a week later my brother found her unconscious on the floor she was rushed to er to find out she had pneumonia and the staph infection back, she was there another 3 weeks came home, and the vomiting started, her stomach was filling up with bio, they told her she had a kidney stone blah blah, anyway now her kidneys are failing, they tell her she has an unhappy pancreas, what the heck why not just say you have cancer and give her a time, the woman has suffered so much my heart aches for her and my brother, this poor womans body is so brusied and swollen she looks like someone beat her half to death, I dont understand if the cancer is back why they are even trying dialysis- they have recently told my brother the cancer has spread, they do at least 5-6 tests a day and still will not tell my brother where the cancer is or if she is going to die, I work thru hospice and I deal with this thing daily, I just pray to god that something gives soon this girl has been thru hell and back and I wish I had more faith that she will get better but like I said I work with hospice I know. For all of you reading this if you havent yet done so please go get a colonoscopy, any changes in your bowels, sudden weight loss, tiredness, shortness of breath, all these are signs, blood in your stool, mucus... Dont wait til its too late.
