Yes, I would say you're very lucky.
I'm not a mean person, I'm really not, so I'm not going to say everything that I would like to...so I'll say good luck and leave it at that.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Here's a different question then, why did you want to keep the baby rather than abort it or give it up for adoption?

well abortion was what me and my boyfriend wanted to do. But my parents and his parents are pro life and they told me i could not get an abortion. and i thought about adoption and in the begining i looked up alot of information on it and i mean i know it would be the smart thing to do seeing as i still have two years until i graduate and maybe im not emotionally ready to deal with a baby but i love my baby and i can't imagine after going through 9 months of carrying her and feeling her move in me, there is no way i could hand her over to another mother. and keeping her is such a huge choose also and somedays i feel its the right choice and then other days im just like "holy caca can i honestly take care of a child when im still a child myself??" but i have so much support and anything finacial is not a problem at all. i know that i can do this.

I am sorry that you and your bf have been forced into this very difficult dilemma. It's not just emotionally difficult, it is also physically risky to both you and your unborn.

For the past few hours I have been reading about the risks of pregnancy and childbearing to young teens and their children. The risks are real, and the fact that they have been forced upon you by your own parents is alarming to say the least.

Following is a sample of the findings of the dangers of very young childbearing. Before you read this, keep the following in mind. None of these finding say these bad things will happen to everyone. These findings are not talking about you. They are jjust an overview of the risks to younger teens in general.

Adolescent Women and Their Infants: at Risk for Injury, Illness, and Death
• Adolescents age 15 through 19 are twice as likely to die during pregnancy or child birth as those over age 20; girls under age 15 are five times more likely to die.

• Infants of adolescents are at increased risk for death. In fact, the infants of adolescent mothers are more likely to die before their first birthday than are the infants of older mothers.
10
• Complications during childbirth account for almost 25 percent of newborn deaths.
11
Preterm delivery
and low birth weight are other reasons for deaths among infants born to adolescent mothers.

Future, rehashing the risks with someone who can no longer abort is a bit more than unnecessary.

To the OP, I'm so happy your parents were supportive! With school and all the other crap teens have to deal with, it's so important to have your parents behind you anyway...and with a baby, mom's are even more so [not just for teens, most first time moms, of any age, rely on moms and g-mas for advice and support]. I remember the first time my oldest developed croup, and I didn't know what to do. I wanted to rush to the doctor. My mom calmly led me into the bathroom and blasted the shower, recounting all the times she'd done it with me, and how steam helps and on and on, lol.

First of all, I made sure to say this first:

"None of these finding say these bad things will happen to everyone. These findings are not talking about you. They are just an overview of the risks to younger teens in general."

Second of all, knowing the risks of something can help a person avoid them. In this specific case, she still has time to take as good care of herself as possible, eating right, taking vitamins, not smoking or drinking alcohol, etc., etc. to minimize any risks.

Third, it's outrageous that her parents put her in this situation, and I am pointing this out for anyone else reading this.

Ya the whole dying during labor is something my boyfriend is actully realy scared about. but i mean its almost 2008 the risk is like slim to none. which is good. and ya i hated my parents for awhile for not letting me get an abortion. that would of so been the best thing for me and my boyfriend. and i dont know if my paerents relieze that this is going to affect them hugely seeing as i do not have a job (for now) and they wil be paying for all this baby stuff and medical bills and i dont what my point there was and im to lazy to backspace it all. sorry. but like i said earlier i know that this will work out fine. well i really really hope.

Yes I was going to ask who would be financially responsible for this child?

You are not working, are you in school? at 15 you cant even get a job. Are you doing anything from home? babysitting? running errands? you can find ways to earn money... not enough but some?
