Q: Nitrates In Hotdogs

After posting about what Ava eats Bridget brought it to my attention that lots of hotdogs aren't good for kids. She was eating 1 a day or every other day sometimes. I read up on it and it says that kids 0-10 that ate more than 12 hotdogs in a month were 9 times more likely to develop leukemia. That really worried me so I threw them out. My mom looked for hot dogs without it and there is none at our walmart.
What do you guys think about the nitrates?
My sil said that her kids were vienna sausage and hot dog freaks. They ate it every day and they're fine, one's 10 and one's 15.
I'm still not giving it to her even though she asks everyday for some, but I was wondering what you read up on it or heard about it.
Thanks.

I know Hans has nitrate free hot dogs.

That is good you aren't giving in and letting her have them every day. It isn't good for her.

I cut it out cold turkey as soon as I read that. I want to find some nitrate free ones, but my mom couldn't find any. I'll look at a different store. Thanks!

We eat tofu pups which are both nitrate and meat free. Lunch meat is loaded with nitrates as well.

Read the book Skinny B*tch. My friend was telling me about it yesterday, she said it'll probably make you want to change the way you're eating completely, and not just hot dogsss! I'm gonna read it! It talks about everything like that.
