We have quads here, have had them since they first came on the market. Our children when growing up drove them, our grandchildren are now learning to drive them. We of course do not allow them on the road, even though here in NY State, you have to insure & register them. They wear helmets all the time. When we take them on the trails behind our home, they are fully protected. Learning to drive them, I believe, will help them to be good drivers when they become of age. They will know how to control a vechile and judge distants. They have learned to respect machines and what they are capable of doing, both good & harm.
The other side of the coin is this poor family. They said the headlights were on. Why did the woman not slow down & use caution when she saw them? Very tragic all around.
My prayers to both families. The child's family & the other driver & her family.
