Q: a Rash.. But Is It Herpes?

I went to se my doctor today because of a small, circular-shaped rash on the right side, top of my butt cheek. The rash was very itchy and painful, and eventually I got itchy in a line formation from that rash to my top labia lip, but no rash where the new itchiness was. There were never any sores or open sores, just a very itchy rash with small pricklies sticking up, and sensitive skin. I also had some joint pain and mucscle pain, and pain that felt like bruising... Anyways - by the time I went to the doctor, the rash was mostly gone, so he didn't get to see it in time. I'm having a blood test done to see if it's herpes, but since there were no lesions, maybe it's something else? My ex boyfriend had shingles once over a year ago... Could it possibly be that? Or just a rash? In any case, I don't know what it's from, or what it is, and I am scared... So if anyone has experienced this sort of rash "down there" then please let me know. So far it has been itchy for about a week and a half.

Thanl you.

I know I get something that sounds a lot like that, but I get it on my hands - circular-shaped rash, very itchy, painful, sensitive, and with little prickly bumps. My dermatologist said it was eczema. Maybe it's possible to get eczema "down there" too? I don't know, but you may want to ask about it.
