We went to the jeweler yesterday and this is the setting we chose. They were able to set it within the hour (their jeweler wasn't there when we purchased it but they got it done ASAP)

(I am in love!)

He wasn't very picky. He did want to wait at about a year but I wanted to have it on our current anniversary to keep it the same. That meant it would either be 8 months from now or a year and 8 months.

You guys are in on some privileged info. Only two other people know the date.

Todd can tell his mom though. She wanted us to wait at least a year and go to Christian Marriage counseling. We agreed but I know it will feel awkward to discuss stuff with a stranger.

Yeah, I would feel awkward with that as well, hopefully it wont be too intimidating.
I think it's a great Idea to wait the whole year and 8months and keep the anniversary date the same.

It gives us a lot more time to relax and enjoy this time. We will also have a lot of time to make wedding decisions. His mom wants it in Corvallis, OR, but we would prefer it here (or vegas but we know THAT will be a fight).

She has no girls so we know she will be pushing for a wedding closer to her views. It might drive me nuts, but I do like her and will try to make her happy. As far as I am concerned it is just a day to start my married life, not the most important day EVER. I do NOT want conflict over this.

That setting is GORGEOUS!
Congrats on setting a date! It'll be easier on Todd, too. Less dates for your man to remember!

Aww! Why is your water turned off?
You can come 3000 miles and use my shower if you're desperate. Wink

Yeah, having all that time to plan and make wedding decisions will be a lot less stressful in the long run and you can feel good about everything in the end, because you had a lot of time to think it over, talk it out and make it perfect.

We had no hot water here for a couple of days about a month ago. I went over to my mom's to shower, but I couldn't do the dishes for a couple of days, that really got on my nerves.
When do you get your water back?

Haha. The people who lived upstairs before had illegal laundry hookups. They have been turning the water off so the can repair all of the damage for new tenants.

It is temporary. It should be back on soon but in the mean time I feel icky Razz

Congrats! The ring is beautiful. No matter how much time you have before your wedding it'll fly by and you still won't be ready in time. lol
Don't let your mother-in-law run the show. It's YOUR wedding.
Good luck!

Sponge bath with bottled water?

(And for the record I knew that you don't have kids yet. I was just suggesting it on the off-chance you happened to have wipes.)

I know, no worries. No wipes though. I do have an "emergency" kit in my purse with hand wipes but I am not desperate yet. I just cleaned up a bit around the apt. and now I really want a shower. I will live though. (I guess...)
