Hello! I am a 22 year old female. On October 29th of this year, I woke up and had a pain in the lower right part of my back.. close to my spine. I had thought maybe I pulled a muscle while sleeping so I jumped in the shower (thinking hot water would ease my pain).. it didn't work.. and it became severe.. I was crying it hurt so bad. Eventually, my hands started tingling (like they had fallen asleep), I started shaking, and then I threw up. Almost immediatley after thowing up, I felt normal again. My mom thought maybe I worked myself up so much about the pain, that I had a panic attack.

Three times since then I have gotten that same pain in my back, but the pain eventually goes away. But then, this morning, I woke up to the pain in my back.. and it wouldn't go away. I was in pain for over an hour and I eventually started sweating and shaking... then, I threw up. Within minutes I felt normal again. I don't know what's wrong with me!!

I have no history of any health problems, with the exception of Scoliosis (and the back pain I get from that is tolerable and more towards the middle of my back). I thought maybe this new pain could be caused by kidney stones but when looking on the web, it says pain caused by kidney problems would be on your left side.

Please help me!

Hello Mmonroe,

PLEASE seek advice from a neurologist/spinal surgeon without delay.

Also, the pain may be due in part from the mattress you sleep on. May I be do foreward as to ask what type of mattress you have and for how long?

Try to seek out the best neurologist/spinal surgeon that you can find in your area. Talk with others and find out which doctors they liked and which ones they did not like.

I hope with proper care you will be able to solve your back pain problem.
