First off back in 1999 I had my right
ovary removed because of a dermoid cyst
that was a size of a tennis ball.
In the begining of the this year (age 30)
I was told after a ultrasound that i have
another cyst on my left ovary. My doctor
but me back on birth contol to see if this
would change anything.
In the mean time I go have my regular pap
smear. After the appt we set up another
ultrasound for next week. I get a call
that my pap smear is abnormal. So since I
already have an appt for the ultrasound
they set up to do a colposcopy and a
biopsy next week also.
I have done alot of reading the last
couple of days and i'm making myself crazy
trying to figure out what is going on with
my body.
I have read that a swollen stomach is a
sign of ovarian cancer.. which my stomach
is swollen, (But I have Crohn's Diease so
maybe it's from that!)
Sorry for the long story, I just am scared
only have one ovary already, not having a
child yet... I know i am cyst, now an
adnormal pap.. is it cancer...
what could be wrong??

adnormal pap does not mean you have
ovarian cancer.. ovarian cancer does not
show up on a pap test. So rest about that.
adnormal pap could be a number of things
non cancer related. And if you have
crohn's I would think that is the
bloating. ovarian cyst are common and I
would not worry ( easy for me to say
right?).. But try and stay off the
computer you are only making things upset
you.
I don't think you have any cancer.
