Q: Flu like symptoms in early pregnancy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 28th, 2007
I am five weeks pregnant and I am experiencing flu like symptoms along with a little cramping here and there, would it be wise for me to go to the emergency room, or should I just wait until the morning and make an appointment with my doctor?

Flu-like symptoms and a little cramping are not serious enough symptoms to request medical help from the ER. If the symptoms are caused by a viral infection they can pass spontaneously in a few days. You can make appointment with your doctor but perhaps by the time you visit her, the symptoms might be gone.
