Sad I have been pre-diabetic for a few years. My doctor has never made much of it except to tell me if I didn't lose weight and change my eating habits I could end up a type 2. He's no longer my doctor!

About 2 months ago, I began to clean up my act. My fasting blood sugar ranged from 104-116. I began walking 2-5 miles per day and began eating fiber, fruits, no sugar, drinking water and watching myself. I lost nearly 30 pounds and my fasting blood sugar dropped to the mid eighties to low nineties and my random tests were in the high 90s.

I just went on vacation for a week. I walked incessantly while on my trip, but I did partake in pizza twice and had a few bites of cheesecake. I wasn't terrible but I wasn't like I have been either. I got a cold. Stupidly, I never thought to check the medication but I was taking Nyquil and Ricolla and Halls cough suppressants. My blood sugars have not been the same since. It has only been a week, but my sugars are now back in the low 100s again when fasting and my after dinner sugars go up as high as 150s 2 hours after I eat.

Can anyone tell me what is going on? If I continue to walk and get my diet in check will I get back to my 80s and 90s or have I done something to my immune system or my pancreas that may be irreversible?

You should see your doctor. It sounds like you will need medication.
