Q: Red sores on forearms and stomach

My boyfriend has what appears to be red sores on his forearms, and a few on his stomach none on his private area but I wonder if I should be concerned that it might be contatious? I need help its freaking me out. It doesn't really look like sores as much as it looks like bumps only bigger and I don't know what to do!! Can someone please help me??? I need advice......Thanks

Can you better desctibe the sores? Are they slightly raised? Circles? Patches?
