Armpit And Areola Pain Posted: 12-27-07 19:41pm
I am a 27 year old female. I have 3 kids,
one of which is currently nursing, but I
recently started to notice a pain that
comes and goes in my right breast (near
the areola) as well as a tender spot in my
arm pit (closer to my breast though). I
am a little worried to say the least, but
I keep reminding myself that this may be
associated with breastfeeding my son (he's
13 months and I've never experienced the
pain before now). What are your
suggestions. I am due for my pap next
month, so obviously I will bring it up
then, but in the mean time what are your
suggestions?
Thanks,
Christina

What's the type of this pain?
Is it burning in nature, or sharp,
stabbing or pinching pain?
Does this pain last throughout the
feeding, and occasionally continues after
the feeding has ended?
Is there any change in appearance of your
nipple or areola?

although i don't mean to give you
unneccessary worry, i would get this
checked out as soon as you can, before
your pap smear. any unusual changes or
pain should be investigated so if there is
a problem it can be nipped in the bud. the
sooner you go to a doctor, the sooner your
mind will be put at rest.

Have you already checked it?
Do you still feel the same discomfort and
pain?
