i had sex about two months ago, had my period a month after that, and now haven't had it and i'm scared! i've been gaining a little wait, but haven't changed any of my eating habits. this is probably a stupid question, but i'm just scared!

If you had sex two months ago, have had a period, and haven't had sex since your last period, you are probably not pregnant.

It's really, really rare to have a period while you are pregnant, but it can happen in the first month of pregnancy, or the first "period" could have been implantation bleeding (but I doubt it.)

If you are sure it was a period that you had, then don't worry. You could just be stressed out or something else besides pregnancy could be delaying it.

If this doesn't help you, you can always take a test. That never hurts and will give you more peace of mind.

I don't think you're pregnant either; and stress can cause it to be even later! Just go buy a test and pee on it to ease your mind. You've had a period, so you're not likely to be pregnant.

Was the first period a real period, or was it light? Your options are...

- You're not pregnant, and are just late
- You were pregnant, but miscarried, causing a late period
- You are pregnant, and your 'period' was actually implantation bleeding

It's when the fertilized egg burrows into your uterus. About 10-14 days after fertilization (I could be wrong on that number, someone correct me if I am). Sometimes there is bleeding associated with it, but it's usually very light.

I don't think she had sex after her period which is why we all think she's not pregnant. Anyway, regardless of that, you can now test and get accurate results.

If she miscarried, the test might still come back positive. There is also the very unlikely chance of an ectopic pregnancy, although that can only be diagnosed by an OB.

Take the test, then go see an OB if it's positive. I guess that's all it boils down to.

I'm beginning to think all sexually active women and girls who don't want to get pregnant, besides being on reliable birth control, should keep a dose of Plan B and a home pregnancy test locked away for emergencies.

it's just really confusing me that i skipped: i rarely do. does it mean anything if i had a period a month later, but skipped the next one? i wasn't too worried until i begin gaining weight, which is really abnormal for me considering i play a lot of sports!

Test. Go get one. It's the only way to know.

It sounds like something may be really wrong, though. You should have your parents take you to the doctor.

Possibly a thyroid issue, maybe pregnancy but the weight gain isn't normally this soon.
