Hello All,

I am 40, female. 2 weeks ago I had a tooth pulled out (lower left 6 due to the both roots being affected and there was no possibility of healing them). Upon examining my x-ray, our family dentist explained that if the tooth was the front one she would do the surgery but as it is on the back she recommended pulling. I didn’t experience great pain before or after I mean I didn’t have a toothache)

The tooth was pulled under a local anaesthesia. I was not given any antibiotics and 2 days later I have taken another x-ray upon which my dentist confirmed that everything is ok (no infection I assume). 5 day later I return to UK (where I don’t have a regular dentist) and felt jaw stiffness. It was difficult to open my mouth as I used to do before. There was a pain at the end of jaw, on the place when the jaw meets with head. The lower teeth couldn’t meet the upper. Upper were much forward. I still feel these symptoms. I have seen GP who checked whether Ihave any infection. There was no swelling and no infection according to her so she referred me to a dentist.

Emergency dentist diagnosed that I must be having a spasm from tooth extraction and would need to take ibuprofen for a week. It is Xmas holiday period so I would need to return to a dentist after New Year. Before yesterday (almost 10 days after the tooth extraction) I felt "pins and needles" in the lower lip as well as temporary numbness. Similarly after few moments of the anesthesia. Today I am feeling the "pins and needles" effect on my face and neck and other parts of the body, while at my lip and cheek now I feel sort of altered sensation. I mean luck of sensation. After usual process of brushing my teeth I am noticing that there is blood coming from the wound. I am becoming worried particularly as I am not able to see my family dentist and I not so sure I could find adequate dentist over Xmas and New Year holiday.

AM I having a strange nerve infection???

I had 6 month ago operation related to c5/6 cervical radioculopaty which one done from behind. From time to time I feel pins and needles in my fingers but the doctor said I should be ok it is just the ghost pain from the bruised nerve. Could it be some connection?

Please let me know if you know anything about this symptoms.
