Have you been ill with fever lately?
Do you take any medications such as
Clopidogrel (Plavix), Warfarin, Heparin,
or Aspirin or other blood thinners?
Have you every had any problems with
bruising / bleeding?
The small red or purple pin point dots on
the body are called petechiae, and the
skin rush of petechiae is known as
purpura.
Most petechiae will resolve on their own,
if there is no underlying disorder.

If you are having treatment for Leukemia,
this is may well be a sign that you need
some blood, there called blood spots,
which seem wierd as its a lacking of
blood.
My mother had this lots of times during
her chemo treatment

Damage to the bone marrow, by way of
displacing the normal bone marrow cells
with higher numbers of immature white
blood cells (due to leukemia), results in
a lack of blood platelets, which are
important in the blood clotting process.
This means people with leukemia may become
bruised, bleed excessively, or develop
pinprick bleeds (petechiae).
This can be controled by blood
transfusions.
