I am 21 years old..
I have been suffering with constant nausea and vomiting since May of 07. I am on 1200 mg of prescription Zantac and 900 mg of Tigan (nausea relief pills) and nothing seems to work. I am not pregnant. I have woken up every morning for the past 8 months throwing up stomach acid. (Dark yellow bile) When I try to eat something I throw it back up. The Tigan helps some and marijuana helps a lot to keep the excruciating nausea under some what control.
Test done:
5/22/07 EGD (normal)
5/24/07 Gastro Empty (normal)
6/27/07 PH test (didn’t complete because there was no way we were getting that tube down my nose!)
7/16/07 Bravo (could not sedate me) the doctors wont try again on me.
9/27/07 UGI-SBF *Upper GI Series (deglutition and esophageal motility are normal. The GE Junction is unremarkable. No signs or gastric masses or active ulcers and mucosa seems Intact. * Small Bowel Follow Through (preliminary abdominal film is unremarkable. Small bowel is normal. No intrinsic or extrinsic masses are suggested.

I do have irregular food habits because of my nausea and i do skip quite a few meals but when i feel like i can keep it down i try to eat all day so my stomach will have something on it. I dont eat oily or spicy food it kills me along with alcohol. I do feel bloated like i cant eat anymore. Bowel movements are ok.

It is very debilitating and hard to go through the day. I also feel the same way as zenaleigh does.
“But some how they gotta help it go away. It’s getting to the point where I can’t eat. Everything I eat or drink causes nausea.” This is the truth! What could be causing this? The three specialists I have seen don’t know what to do for me. So they referred me to MUSC (medical university of South Carolina) to see a specialist there. Can anyone give me any kind of advise???

My wife having exact same symptoms
Please help! My wife is having the exact same symptoms. She's also vomiting frequently. More excessive now than ever. Can you please let me know what the problem was and what you did to resolve the illness? She's also seen a GI specialist and had a GI work done (all negative like yourself). She's getting an MRI done today.

I was recently diagnosed with a vomiting disorder called cyclic vomiting syndrome. it is brought on by an anxiety disorder. i was told it is very common just hard to diagnose. they put me on citalopram for anxiety and amitriptyline for an antidepressant. I am constantly having to go back to my doctor and getting my dosage up'd because I'm still having vomiting spells. so far the absolute only thing that stops the vomiting and nausea is an IV or marijuana. I have just accepted the fact that it's something I have to endure, not much else you can do for
it other than stay heavily medicated.

If anyone finds any solution to this problem, please let me know...my friend has been in the hospital for 2 weeks with the SAME symptoms. Chest/stomach pain and throwing up everything he eats. He has been diagnosed with stomach ulcers and a hiatal hernia, but besides those problems he is a perfectly healthy 21 year old male, and every test he's gotten shows that he's healthy as a horse. It's so frustrating!

Since October 23/09 I've been having the exact same problems with the exact same results.
- Vomitting everything I eat (even beverages)
- Vomitting bile
- Constant pain in my right side under my ribs (Like I feel like it throbs sometimes when I throw up???)
- Pain in my chest
I literally have to tale Tylenol every 4 hours just to function. I''m barred from work and school, yet I''m not eligable for EI benefits because I''m missing 400 hours of work. All of my tests are coming back normal, yet everyone I talk to who has had gallbladder problems all say I have the same symptoms they had, including my Mother, grandmother and great aunt. After a broncostomy and emergency trips it was determined that my left lung is inflamed, possible due to the acid coming up in my sleep. I don''t have a clue what to do!
I've tried tons of antiacid meds with no luck. I see my doctor AGAIN today, and hope we can figure something out.
On a side note, ever since my Gastroscopy was preformed, my chest and torso are even more sore now. Just talking causes a werid tightening pain throughout my body, along with the the pain in my right side. . .

In regards to the constant nausea and throwing up
Have you found anything new about this? My girlfriend has going through the same thing for 2 months with no results and I'm extremely worried for her health. She's anemic and has already dropped from 110 pounds down to 85. doctors say she can't get an infusion while tests are being done and it could be as long as 2 more months before she can get one. I'm worried she could die.

Sweeneykitkat - I am not a doctor but your symptoms definitely sound like a gallbladder problem.
Harleydc - I assume you have been checked for gastroparesis and gallbladder issues?

I really do wish you all relief from your symptoms and I also hope that people report back if they find the answers.

Good luck to all of you.

I've been having the same nausea with no vomiting and no pain. Mine is all day except when I take my nausea medication and then sometimes it doesn't help. I've been constantly nauseated for the past 2 weeks. I have been to my pcp and gastroenterologist, had an endoscopy. Nothing was found there. I've been over all my meds with my Dr and nothing there was the cause. I've not had any stress that would cause this and I'm living on Phenergan and Dramamine for the nausea. I'm eating foods that would not cause this. So I've been down every avenue and I can't find out what's the cause.
What can you suggest?

You could have developed a food intolerance as they can develop at any time and you can check this by following an elimination diet. You could also have an infection which can be stool tested. You could also have POTS (Google it). Were youi tested for H Pylori? You might also consider that you have too much stomach acid which can occur even if you don't have reflux, in this case you can try a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole as this can help a lot of people.
Please keep us posted on developments.

Nausea/Vomiting
It would be so nice if people would update us all after they see a physician. I go in on 09/13/10 for basically the same issues.
Since mid-June I am in a constant status of nausea teetering on vomiting several times per day. I am on a regimen of medication, however I have been taking them for five years, so I don't believe that's an issue.
In October 2008, I almost passed away (I was 38)from aspirating stomach acid, coupled with a few other things, including removal of my gall bladder. Several months later, I had a nissen fundoplication due to the sphincter muscle connecting the stomach & esophogus and I was good to go...no more heartburn, acid reflux, and eating loads of antacids. Tick Tok, two years later and now this~I won't lie~it scares me. Of course there are a hundred reasons why people are nauseated and vomit, but most of the people here seem to be on the same boat with similar issues. I promise to update-and I really hope that others will see their personal physicians and do the same.
I wish everyone good health. Take care...

nausea and vomiting
I have had symptoms of nausea and vomiting since june of 2008. Pain is sometimes accompanied and sometimes not. Sometimes the vomiting is acidic sometimes not. My gastric emptying study showed somewhat delayed but not to this extent. Anti nausea meds don't seem to do much anymore and we have tried upwards of 15 different meds i think. I throw up 5-10 times a day...when i eat and when i don't eat. Not as much if i don't eat but it hurts more then. Nausea also seems to be worse when I am on my cycle. I also am continuing to drop weight...seems to be plateaued at about 5 lbs a month right now. I will update...all updates seem to be though different meds not difference. i have had the upper gi series twice and also my gall bladder was removed in 2005.

Well, I saw my Dr. yesterday and he doesn't have any answers for me. I was referred back to my original GI physician, so I will have another appointment soon. I should have mentioned that I, too, vomit whether I eat or not. It is MUCH worse when I eat because it seems to sit in my stomach and won't digest.
I know this isn't the most fun topic, but I feel assured that we will all find help and have hope through our posts.
Take care...

Same symptoms for a 22 year old.
My son has the same symptoms for over a year now. He is 22. Was an active athlete. Wakes up in the middle of the night, or early morning vomiting. Losing weight. MD could find nothing wrong, ran blood tests, ran various scans and xrays... ruled out nerves as well.
His insurance deductible is too high to continue with the doctors. He won't go to the hospital next time he has an episode. I think if we had him in the ER during his vomiting stage we will have a better chance of figuring this out.
Has anyone gone directly to the ER for hands on diagnosis during their vomiting?
Please post any MD results or suggestions what to look for that is not obvious.
