was informed that i'd had one today...blood results confirmed... when the dr told me, I asked if i could leave because i knew i was going to get hysterical...they said it was fine and asked if i wanted and miscarriage info..i said no...
im not bleeding anymore and never had any cramping...
is a d c necisarry? i seems too invasive and like it could cause problems...
also, how soon after a miscarriage can you concieve again? is it possible right away?

I was 6 weeks pregnant when the miscarriage began... and when i had an ultra sound last week they couldnt see anything, nor when they did the transvaginal scan... they said I was "empty" but my uterous wall was thick?

So sorry for your loss.
How far along were you? Sometimes the body passes the remnants on its own, especially if you are earlier along. However sometimes you can have what is called a missed abortion when you continue to bleed and the body cannot reject the retained products of conception on its own. THis can happen at any stage in pregnancy. You can get an ultrasound to determine if you need a D&C along with clinical advice from your doctor. They will know. Leaving the remnants inside can lead to bad infections.
You should usually wait a full 3 months before trying to concieve again just so your body can go through a few cycles and cleanse, so you will have a healthy implantation site for a new embryo.
Best of luck.

they probably meant you didn't have a gestational sac and youre uterine lining was thick (normal occurance during pregnancy). If you have stopped spotting and you were only 6 weeks along changes are you will not need a d&c. you should have one more follow up ultrasound in a couple weeks just to make sure you are clean before ttc again.

You should demand another ultrasound in a week or two weeks. sometimes you are not far along enough and the sac cannot be seen. this happened to me with my daughter and a week later they saw the sac

i would do another ultrasound in a week or so just to give it more time 6 weeks is sooo early to see much of anything but a sac. a d&c is only necessary when tyour levels have not come down in a sufficent amount of time therefore leaving dead tissue behind resulting in them removing it.If you have miscarried they recommend two full period cycles after you have miscarried before trying again. trust me i just went through this

Im so sorry, I have had 2 miscarraiges myself one resulted in a D&C and one was at 7weeks early enough I was told for my body to naturally handle it. I dont know how you could say a D&C at 6 months is nothing! Im sorry you must be tough as nails but it is pretty intense and is just as emotionally invasive. Anyway I think you will be fine, you are supposed to go back in a couple weeks to be sure about the pregnancy and that your ok
After two I now have a healthy almost 3 year old Smile Good luck it gets easier in time. Natures way of protecting you.

I'm so sorry about your sad news. It's a hard thing to go through.
If you weren't very far along, a D&C isn't necessary. When I had my miscarriage, I was 6 1/2 weeks along, and I passed it without needing help. My gyno told us to wait at least a month to try again. Make sure to stay in contact with your Gyno with any questions or problems or complications you may have.
