Q: Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo Question

So this is my first month of taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo or any birth control, and i took every pill as well as on time, and i have finally reached the "inactive" green ones that are the ones you are suppose to have your period on, but my period didnt start, and i have had unprotected sex a week prior to this. I dont know if its normal that i missed it or if its ok, or if i'm actually pregnant. I cant call my doctor because she is on vacation and i'm out of town. help?

How many inactive pills have you taken? Sometimes your period won't come until day 3 or 4.

Extremely eHealthy
SOME women skip periods on BC pills without even trying, it is basically due to the hormones.

You SHOULD keep taking the pills as usual, meaning you should start your next package even if you do not get a period.

I Am On Ortho Tricyclen Lo Also
and i usually dont get my period until the 3rd or 4th day. having sex can push back your period also being stressed pushes it back too. as long as you took every pill at the same point of the day i wouldnt worry about it. if you do not get your period at all i would keep taking the pill but i would suggest taking a pregnancy test. just to be sure.

This is your first time on pills your body could be still adjusting and you might get it the week after those inactive pills as long as you took all of your pills like you were supposed to I believe that you are ok, I would wait and continue taking the pills and call the doctor within the next week or two and just make sure that it is ok but I really think that it has a lot to do with your body adjusting to it
