This may be a stupid question, but do you know you have bad breath because you can smell it? (like if you breath into your hands or against the mirror, can you smell it?)
I am SO paranoid that I have bad breath, but I can't smell it and i just don't know.
I have asked my mom and she says she's never noticed, but i'm afraid she's just saying that because she doesn't want to hurt my feelings.
(I haven't asked my husband because i'm too embarrassed, but i have all but stopped kissing him and I stay far enough away from EVERYONE just in case i am killing them.)
I am a healthy, fairly attractive 30 year old woman and I'm afraid people are making fun of me, but no one will tell me.

I have excellent oral hygiene. I brush numerous times a day, floss everyday, i recently bough Therabreath and I've noticed, since i've been using it, that i used to get really thick salvia when i brushed before (like mucus but clear) and i don't that with therabreath.

I went to an ENT because i feel like i have constant drainage in the back of my throat. he couldn't find a reason for it. (although he did find a 'growth' in one of my sinuses on a CT scan, but said that was extremely common) he thought it might be GERD, and we tried a few meds, but nothing helped.
He checked my throat and he didn't mention tonsil stones... wouldn't he have if they were there?

i am either a headcase over this paranoia or i have a problem with bad breath. I just FEEL like it's bad.

can anyone help?? Embarassed

Why Do You Feel That Way?
You expressed your concerns but didn't say why. First of all, if you can't ask your husband then who can you ask? You can ask a kid because they are usually honest for not knowing any better. Try brushing your teeth softer and flossing ALL of your teeth and under bridges. Next, be sure to drink lots of water and stay away from alcoholic mouthwashes. Try a tongue scraper. If you really want to know get close to someone and see if they cover their nose or leave. Good luck!!!

Response to HowdoIknow
You sound just like me! Everyone around you - strangers - tell you somehow with their body language that you have a smell whilst talking to them, but when asking people close to you they tell you different. Your message is dated in 07. has anything changed since then? I would love to talk more with you about this as i said, i'm going through the same thing and it's so annoying when you "know" something is wrong and people, including your doctor is telling you different. So frustrating!!!

paranoia on halitosis
me too! i have this paranoia about my breath. I care too much what people say about me. And when i talk , people around look like they smell something , i have asked my brother. he said he never smelt a thing. He swore! i even asked my bestfriends. they said they had never smell a thing too , but they are the ones who look like they've smelled something when i am talking. i don't know , this is so irritating!!
