my grandbaby is due to have surgery on the 31st . the doctor is going to put tubes in her ear's, which isn't a big deal. my question is my daughter - in - law has a family history where they are loosing all hearing in the right ear. my grandbaby has bleeding in the right ear all the time. when the doctor puts tubes in will this stop the beleeding & will this stop her from loosing her hearing?

It is possible that the tubes could prevent that. It seems strange that there would be just random bleeding in the ear...I do not know the cause of that. But if all the cases of deafness were from the genetic formation of the ear and it's inability to drain properly, yes I think the deafness would be less likely since the blood would not put excess pressure on her inner ear.

There are many parts of the ear that help us hear properly, so it would really depend on what went wrong with the ears in her family...low fluid, improper drainage, missing an anvil.....whatever it may be.
