I wouldn't...

however, my spouse is really emotional/connected/open. I don't think he would be able to cheat without telling me, if he cheated in the first place.

When we first started to notice each other, I guess when he developed a "crush" on me, he was dating another girl. He told her about his feelings for me, and they even stayed together for a while until he decided that maybe it was more than just a crush on me.

Six years yesterday! Yay!

Men/ women do some real lieing and cheating when they are no longer in love or thinking about leaving their spouse. And in order to get it all out in the open so one can leave or find out the problem, people need to be exposed.
I would not hire a PI. But I sure the heck would check it out if I thought something was going on behind my back.

lol

I agree though, if I suspected cheating at all, regardless of if the cheating was actually happening, that would cause me to question the relationship.

It's very disrespectful. What if you found out he or she wasn't even cheating? Then, would you tell him you hired a Pi to spy on him?

Anybody would second guess if they found clues, but hiring somebody to find out for yourself is ridiculous. Do it yourself if you're that into it.

Yeah exactly. You never know, the Pi you hire might have a thing for you too. So, he might tell you he's cheating so he can get in your pants. You never know these days. Wink

If you think they are cheating there is something wrong with marriage. Sad

Its the whole invisibility spell that is the problem. I can't ever get it to work for me so I'd freak out anyone by simply whisking by on a broom... actually if you have so little trust in your mate perhaps a more proactive approach is necessary; simple tell them you've seen xyz and see what goes from there.
Honesty is the best policy (and alot cheaper then a PI!)

No, I'd be my own PI and find out.

I actually turned into a PI for a couple weeks. And yes, he was. Oh, how glorious it was to have evidence of his indiscretions. He tried to lie, it was marvelous.

My First Clue
was my former BF coming over here and I actually smelled sex on him. At 10:30 in the morning. Was shocked and didn't say anything at the time. But, do men honestly believe that they can be with someone and not have the evidence all over them? Honestly, they can be such big babies. Sometimes, we are big babies, too, when we allow them to get away with it. Just how much a person is willing to invest in the relationship is the key.

Men and women do not look at sex and love in the same way. Women love with their hearts, men maybe more with their heads (in more ways than one.)

For some men, lying comes as natural as breathing. It always seemed to me that lying just takes up so much time and energy. You have to remember what you said to whom and just try to keep the story straight. Maybe it is the challenge of getting caught and being able to get out of it. Whew! That was a close one. But, see, I must be smarter than her, because I got off.

Ultimately, it is the liar who loses. You lose the love and support of your loved one. Love just doesn't suddently die. It can be a slow thing. Being with a person takes work and the decision that you want to make it work out.

Marriage is not made in Heaven and is not a bed of roses (my dad used to say that) and I think sexual love in the beginning is sort of like that. It is the decision to make it work that makes it worth the journey for most of us.
