Menstruation is not normal if lasts longer than 7 days (menorrhagya) and if the amount of menstruated blood is greater than 150ml (hypermenorrhea). Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding can be due to some type of organic disorder such as an endometrial polyp, sub-mucosal myoma, infection, or endometriosis. You can consult your gynecologist about these symptoms and seek a full consultation and examination.
