Question.... I had my 6 weeks post check-up today and I was sure to get Birth Control... She asked if I wanted the pill and I think it gets hecktic trying to remember to take it.. So she told me about Nuvaring.. It seem pretty awsome.. You put it in and leave it for 3 weeks then take it out leave out for a week then put a new one in.. So I am going to try it.. I was just wondering if anyone has or is on it and what you think about it.. And if you havent heard about it go to Nuvaring.com and Let me know what you think... Thanks Cortney

Yeah I am not to fond of that part...lol But I think it will be worth it.. I had asked the Dr. about the patch before she mentioned the ring and she said they dont perscrib them there because they cause blood clots.. All birth control could have that as a side effect but it kinda scared me when they said they dont give them out there it must be serious.. IDK...lol

well i tried that....it wasn't comfortable for me i couldn't get over the thought of something in me for that long .... kinda scary to me like a tampon... it's nice not to worry about birthcontrol for weeks but im still a little wieirded out! Alot of people love it though so it is really up to how you feel about it! I was excited about trying it out too and was disapointed .... ask your doctor for a sample of the pill and the ring to see what you like better! good luck!

I only used it for 1 month because of other problems. But I didn't feel when I had it in. Actually putting in was kinda weird but you would get used to it. A friend of mine had it for about a year so far and loves it. She says her hubby can't feel it. But some people have said on here that they could.

It's great and way easier to put in than a tampon.

You just shove it up there. It doesn't matter exactly where it is, as long as it's in your vagina. I never had a problem with feeling it or falling out: except during sex. But if it bothers you during sex, you can take it out for that time.

You can also leave it in for four weeks at a time in an attempt to skip your period.

I'm not convinced about it, unfortunately. I've been on it for about 8 months and at first it was all good. But in the past few months I have had dizziness as well as extreme weight gain around my stomach, and I am pretty sure it also makes me very moody and causes a huge reduction in my want for sex.

So I've decided to go off it and not be on ANY kind of hormanal BC for a while.... and just see what happens. I have been on hormonal BC of one form or another for my entire adult life (and I am now 31) and I sort of feel like I don't know who the "real me" is because my body has always been under the influence of synthetic drugs! So I want to see what I am like in regards to sex and moods when I am just "me".... with no hormonal drugs in my system.

Of course this does mean a reliance on condoms as BC, which makes me feel a little unsure, but both my husband and I are willing to put up with the inconvenience of condoms if it means my health improves.

If there is no change.... ie - I am just a moody cow in real life haha.... I will go back on the NuvaRing.
