If everything is healthy and normal with both your and your husband’s reproductive system you can get pregnant. To get pregnant you'll need to practice unprotected sexual intercourse during the "fertile" days of your menstrual cycle. The fertile days are the days that occur around ovulation (both before, during, and a little after the egg releases). More specifically, the two days before and after ovulation are considered as fertile days. Ovulation, by definition, is the moment when the egg-cell is expelled from the ovary. There are three ways you can predict the ovulation:

1. The calendar method – ovulation occurs 14 days before the next expected menstrual period. This method can be used only in women with regular menstrual cycles because women with irregular cycles can’t estimate the date of next menstruation. For example: if your cycle lasts 29 days and your last menstruation started on 3rd Dec. your next menstruation should come on 31st Dec. Then you count 14 days back from the 31st Dec to arrive at the 18th Dec. as a possible ovulation day. Therefore, the fertile days are 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th Dec.;

2. Measuring the body temperature every morning – several hours after ovulation, body temperature rises a little bit. When you notice that slight temperature rise you should have intensive sex over the next couple of days;

3. Using ovulation predictor tests (OPT) – 12-36 hours before ovulation the level of Luteinisating hormone (LH) suddenly increases and soon after that it decreases (it creates a "peak"). OPTs or OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) detect that peak. You should have intensive sex over the next 4-5 days.
