Menstrual cramping in early pregnancy Posted: 12-19-07 05:23am
I am 6 weeks pregnant with our first child
(this is my first pregnancy)... everything
was going wonderful until yesterday... we
had sex the previous night which during
had felt painful in uper abdominal area...
and the next day i began bleeding like i
had my peroid. i have had menstrual like
cramping the whole 6weeks, so I dont think
that is a concern. we went to the ER, and
they checked my cervix, said it had
clotting. They removed the clots, and said
my cervix was closed- but i am still
bleeding lke i have my period...possibly
some clotting. They said they cant do
anything if its miscarriage and refered us
to an early pregnancy clinic for further
tests tomorrow. Any advice? Is my baby ok?
Please help...

According to your symptoms (vaginal
bleeding with abdominal cramps), you
probably experienced early miscarriage. If
you did experience a miscarriage, your
baby (or more precisely – the embryo)
has died and the pregnancy test will
become negative soon. You can take another
pregnancy test and consult a gynecologist
in order to follow up.
