I have been taking birth control for a year and nine months, but I've been put on anti-biotics for the whole month of November. I know some cancel out birth control. If my boyfriends condom broke or something like that occurred, does this mean I could get pregnant? I haven't had sex with him because of this concern of mine....does anyone know?

Chances are you could. You should always use a back up method with your birth control when you are taking other medicines. Especially antibiotics.

Yes, but you can check with your pharmacist to find out if your particular prescription will interfere. Some don't. In the meantime, act as if you aren't taking the pill at all, use condoms and such.

ANY antibiotic interfers with bc. You have a low chance of getting pregnant but it is a higher chance than when not taking an antibiotic. The only time this does not come in to play is if you continually take one (like for acne) but that is because your body adjusts to that. Your body will not adjust when taking it for periods of time. So you must be careful. Use a backup method.

Actually no. MOST antibiotics do NOT interfere at all. There are only specific antibiotics that interfere and you'll have to ask a trained pharmacist to know if the one you are taking does so.
