hey there. Let me first begin by saying that I have eben tested 8 times and they have all been negative. I tested out at 3 months in march and it was negative.. I went back at the 11 month mark and tested 3 times in 1 week.. they were all negative.. I went back one more time and tested at another location... This time the Nurse Practitioner did the test a bit differently.. Instead of using the small white stick with the hoop on the end to collect the blood sample, she just took the test device paddle and scraped blood from my finger onto it and then deposited it into the test solution. She did not mix up the blood with the solution.. The test result was still negative, but the only thing different was that the background window of the test device remained a bit pinker than the other tests I have had done.. The test device still showed only 1 line at the Control C area and it was plainly visible and easy to read... I asked the doctor about this and she said it was because she had gotten too much blood in the test device solution and it made it stay pinker than normal... Anyway, does the pink background make any difference? The official website only talks about a RED background making the results hard to determine... It mentions nothing about a pink background.. Anyway, I just wanted your opinion. I really appreciate it... I know I should not be worried... because it was still a negative result.. there is nothing online about what causes a pink background... maybe you can help.. Thanks!

I don't think you should worry about HIV infection after getting so many negative results.
Remember, that 90% of people who contracted HIV infection when exposed are showing the infection like HIV positive ones only after six weeks of suspected exposure.

If no band appears at the C location, if any bands appear outside the C or T locations, or if a pink-red background appears in the device window, the test is invalid and must be repeated.

I guess the last test you got is invalid.

Why are you suspecting that you may have HIV infection?
