Q: Pregnant!

well last monday i took a pregnancy test and it turns out im pregnant!
my boyfriend and i were'nt trying to get pregnant, but it happened and we're still thrilled and excited about it.
We have a lot of support from his side of the family, from his brother, sister-in-law, and their parents. Im so glad i have his sister-in-law (Liz) to talk to about all this, she's a nurse and has two kids and has been giving me advice here and there about what i should be eating, pre-natal vitamins, she's helping me find a family doctor, and took me to one of hers to get everything checked out and to get a blood test to confirm my pregnancy.
I've been living a much healthier life style not only for my baby but for myself aswell, and i had a lot of help from my boyfriend to get where i am today.
Im 5 weeks pregnant now, i feel really good, some back pains here and there and holy hell are my breasts sore! lol im pretty excited about all this. Im ready to take on such a big responsibility raising a baby, im also a little scared wondering if i will be a good mother. But my boyfriend has been supporting me and will be here every step of the way.

Good luck! It's great you have a health professional you can turn to so easily. I know what you mean about the sore breasts, this time last years i was arounf 13weeks and the cold air hurt so much. When i went out i used to wrap a scarf around my chest and then put a coat on over to try and stop the cold gettign to my breasts!

Most pregnant women get turned on or off to certain foods. One sure sign of pregnancy for me is a total and complete aversion to olive oil and scrambled eggs. The scent of either is enough to make me lose my stomach on the spot. I also had constant cravings for the potato soup a local restaurant had once a week, and scalloped potatoes.

I never had sore breasts, though. They just kept getting bigger, lol!

Most women get a bit of sickness at implantation, due to the fluctuation in hormones (the pregnancy quickly and forcibly regulates your hormones so your body won't attack the embryo as a foreign body). It's usually ignored because it can be so mild.

I hope everything works out for you.

Just surious, though, why would you say you weren't trying to get pregnant?

"my boyfriend and i were'nt trying to get pregnant, but it happened and we're still thrilled and excited about it. "

I just read some of your previous threads and the posts therein, and you were even getting information about ovulation prediction kits. I'm sure I could have misunderstood something, so that's why I'm asking.

Are you going to tell your parents? I hope that goes ok, if you do tell them.

Good for you, I'm glad you are taking good care of yourself. How's the family and bf taking the news? Maybe you can reconcile with your mom now.

my boyfriends family is very supportive about the pregnancy, big greek family lots of love and suport. my boyfriend is excited too, hes gonna be by my side through it all.
As for my side of the family, my mom and i are still not on good terms, i haven't told them about my pregnancy yet cuz i dont want to get too stressed out right now cuz its still early in my pregnancy. I've talked to my sister in law about it though, and shes gonna come with me when i tell my mom, she also said maybe now things will get a little better with my mom with a baby coming. but only time will tell that.

Well that's hopeful, at least.

How long has it been since you were living at home? I have a daughter and I cannot even imagine being apart like you two are. Her heart must be breaking. Is she still married to your dad? If so, what does he think of you not living at home with them?

well i got kicked out in...August, i think the day after my birthday...
and its now december so...about 5 months? ya 5 months. Oh sweety her hearts not breaking. Not even a week after she kicked me out, she threw all my things out, re-paintd my room and put my brothers things in my old room, moved my younger brother in to my other brothers old room and made my younger brothers room the wreck room. Shes moved on, dont worry.
My parents are divorced, he thought it would be the best thing for me in a way cuz my mom is a little on the crazy side. However hes not to keen on who im living with now, but for our defence may i jsut say that he is very responsible, supportive, and a wonderful guy to be with.

Your bf does sound great. Your mom sounds heartless. How far away is your dad?

not too far, like if he weren't so stubborn and would actually listen or even talk to me i'd go see him every now and then when he wanted to see me...but thats not the case.
But im cool with it, i mean i have a new family who loves me and supports me and i get along with them really well, their happy and im happy so thats all that matters. Smile

Good. You sound like a strong person. I'm sorry you were saddled with less than ideal parents, though.

its cool, ive come to terms with the saying "everything happens for a reason"
maybe this was just the way things were supposed to be, i mean i wish they were different with my parents but beggers cant be choosers right? lol
the way i look at it is im happy, my bf -fiance- is happy, our family is happy, mine will just have to get over what ever grudge their holding on to and move on.
