Will you still give her something to drink before bed. I can't part with her bottles at nap and before bed. Those are the only ones she has. She's been doing great with the sippy. As far as the spoons/forks Ava doesn't like to be spoon fed. She likes to eat with her fingers or have me finger feed her no matter what it is, beans, mac and cheese, spaghetti. It's gets messy.

Ahh I bet that does get messy! I have 2 sippy cups, one is designated for milk & the other is for water or once in a while when she'll take it, diluted juice. I give her milk with all her meals & the water sippy is out & available for her all day long, I usually have to refill it twice for her. So I'm thinking if she's had a good size dinner & her milk with that then she should be fine for bed, or at least I'm hoping. I don't want to give her up night night bottle either, I love rocking her to sleep while she drinks her warm milk but I think I read somewhere that it's not good for their teeth to have that milk in their mouths all night. I can't remember where I read that & if I even have that information right lol, I'm tired..

williams just started using a knife and fork. he knows what to do with it, but doesn't always manage to get the food on the fork

logan started using spoons from 1 year old and a fork from 18 months

i think i read that they master using utensils around 2, so you should probably be giving her one to practice with whenever you want.

finn has to have a fork or spoon in his hand while he's eating, he just recently started trying to use it but he can't quite get the food on the spoon and then into his mouth. i've been giving him baby forks and i stab a piece of something and then give it to him, then he puts it in his mouth. he knows what it's for but he can't quite do it. it's hilarious watching him trying to chase peas down!

and yay for one bottle! we're done with bottles and i'm so happy. he gets dinner and milk around 6 and goes to bed at 8, and he's fine through the night. i do still rock him for a few minutes before putting him in bed. i can't give that up!

macy HAS to have a utensil to eat. she freaks if you dont give her one so if course liam has to copy. ive been giving him utensils since probably a year old. we have plastic forks. he use to pick the food up and put it on the spoon but now he tries to use the spoon or fork. sometimes tho he gives up and just uses his hands completely.

WHen joseph started on solid foods i gave him utensils he didnt always use them but now he uses them perfect. i just get the lil gerber forks and stuff with the littl ehandles that are easy for them to hold. Im still trying to get jordynne on milk, its hard, she HATES milk, she will drink juice and water out ofa sippy cup but anytime ive offered her milk even flavored she refuses, i give her a fork all the time too she tries to use it but uses her fingers but it doesnt hurt to just offer it at every meal eventually she will get the hang of it.

Reese has been using forks and spoons for about a month and a half or so now... hes had stuff stabbed on his fork and he was SOOO proud! it was soo cute... he still mainly eats with his hands but he tries the fork or spoon.. its so cute:)

Okay so I'll just keep giving her a spoon & fork at every meal to let her practice This is making it more real that she's growing up

Nathan was an anomaly. He started using utensils (mainly spoon) at 9 months and was pretty darn good at it. He started using a sippy cup around 10 months but not all the time until one year. Nathan was extremely good at using a plastic spoon around one year. He HATED getting food on him, so he was extra careful. Till this day, his fine motor skills amaze me.

Toilet training on the other hand is an entirely different story with him.

Mika holds a spoon now but that's only because she tries to take the one i'm using if she doesn't lol. She does put it in her mouth but thats what she does to everything lol
