My boyfriends been back from the military for a almost 2years. He never went to the shrink because he.s too stubborn and proud. So ever since he.s had nitemarès. When I first met him he wouldn't stay over because he was embarrased that I would look at him weird cause he talks in his sleep and twitches and sometimes shakes.

For the past 2months he.ll take a few hit of marijuana before going to sleep, not enough to get him stoned but just enough were he.s sleepy. I did notice such a dramatic change in his sleep. I'm happy cause he wasn't talking, crying out, thrashing etc. He sleeps like a rock and wakes up refreshed and full of energy cause he can finally sleep well. But for the past 3 days I asked him not to smoke cause I was getting worried.

And the nightmares came back, the crying, the hard twitching, and shaking Sad his nightmare got soo bad once, he was on his side and I had to hug him from behind and try to drag him out verbally from the dream he was having. I think he was dreaming from when he was on the battlefield cause he was groaning orders and calling out his fallen buddies names :'(

He told me yesterday that he.s thinking of finally going to the shrink and I'm glad. Is it wrong that I want him to smoke just so these horrible nitemarès can go away for a while? Anybody going thru this with there guys or girls? Any tips?

The military doctor he used to see was a bad idea due to his disability.a chemical in it would worsten the pain and he would become addicted to it. His pain is so bad the doc said vicoden doesn't even work for him anymore. My boyfriend doesn't want to take pulls cause he doesn't want to get addicted

sorry if im replying a couple of months late but he does have PTSD. theres been a few times where we have gone to the grocery store like costco or some huge megamart and he freaks out. cold sweats, edgy, on the defensive, white knuckles cause hes gripping something so tightly. i asked him the first time it happened and he said its cause he saw someone that looked middle eastern(im not saying it in an offensive way) but he freaked out and i had to leave my cart in the store so we could leave. its only happened twice in the past year and a half that we,ve been together. but hes sleeping a little better now, he tried to avoid crowded situations and anything thats war related like movies or games.

I hope your boyfriend is seeing a psychiatrist for ptsd. This is such a debilitating disorder. He really needs some professional intervention. I hope he is sleeping better. He could try something like benadryl. Benadryl is an antihistimine and is nonaddictive and causes drowsiness.

LET HIM SMOKE
just let the guy smoke some pot. if he's not getting stoned good for him. and if he's doing it to sleep GOOD FOR HIM. and any marijuana has like NO harmful chemicals in it. its SOOO MUCH safer than any unnatural chemically based pill he could swallow. UGH. why would you stop him from smoking if he slept better? thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

Um... marijuana is the safest drug there is. It has so many uses and doesnt endanger your body in any way. Sleeping pills can create addiction, make it harder to sleep in the long run, etc. So... best remedy is just smoke a little weed to sleep. I'm actually an insomniac and if I dont smoke once in a while I get completely messed up, staying awake all night and pretty much sleep walking during the day.

That being said, your husband is a racist if he starts being dramatic cuz he sees someone who looks Middle Eastern. Tell him not to be a jack-off and see if that helps. If it doesnt, he needs a psych.
