asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 17th, 2007
i came off the pill on the 12 sep this year i then came on on the 20th of november to the 25th, in the last week i have been getting brown discharge, it is light and does not smell and is not thick, it isnt spotted, i have had unprotected sex on my 14th day of my cycle (3rd december) and (9th and 11th day of cycle) but my boyfriend did pull out before he came. i took a first response test today (17th december) and it came out negetive, could i still be pregnant, im not sure when im coming on although i think i ovulated on the 16th day of my cycle as i had period pains on this day and thick yellow discharge a few days later. what do you think it could be? could it be pregnancy and should i retest and when? thankyou

If your cycle is irregular, ovulation can not be predicted by simply looking at a calendar. Usually, yellow vaginal discharge is not sign of ovulation. Unfortunately, you won't be able to know anything about just yet the possibilities for conception. You can, however, use an ovulation predictor kit or you can track the basal temperature of your body in order to predict ovulation. Finally, the 17th of December could be too early a date for performing a pregnancy test so you can take another test around the middle of December.
