Dioxin Levels In Fish
Posted: 12-17-07 08:07am

Hi,

Lately I have been reading about high levels of dioxins found in omega rich oils and foods, and it got me wondering if I should be paying more attention to this. I eat fish about 4 times a week and I take a fish oil supplement everyday. I feel great but I was searching around online and noticed that a few supplements had been recalled last year because of high dioxin levels. How much is too much? And what should I be looking for in a supplement to make sure it’s effective and safe?

First, you want to check out the manufacturer. Fish oils that are produced on fish farms are not what you want. Nor are lake/river fish b/c of mercury levels and so forth. Ocean caught fish are best, or so I've heard. So research your sources.
