I'm Desparate For Answers...

I'm currently in therapy and taking medication (risperdal) for auditory hallucinations and bi-polar symptoms. My therapist has repeatedly stated that the fact that I only experience "hearing voices" and other sounds (auditory hallucinations) while at home is not usual of schizophrenic behavior. In fact, he has suggested i'm the brunt of a cruel joke. The experiences I have had thus far (for 7 months - moreover for the last 3 months and increasing even w/medication) are so real to me I have experienced loss of time out of fear during certain "episodes". Most recently, my therapist suggested my symptoms were solely related to my environment. Has anyone else experienced or heard of such isolated symptoms? I find myself wanting to prove that i'm mentally ill and in fact have schizophrenia rather than the suggested alternative. Help...

That's very strange. I recommend finding another home and you will be cured. You may be distress when you go home which can affect the neurotransmitters in your brain. You should get off the medication though because the longer you stay on it, the more dependent you will be with it. The brain actually changes its structure because of it.

It sounds to me you are confused about your diagnosis! If your therapist is prescribing medication he is treating you for something. This may be bipolar. Often people experience hallucinations when manic but usually you would experience some other symptom of mania. I would speak to ur therapist and ask him what your diagnosis is after all you are taking medication. If he feels you dont need it why prescribe it? It is expensive aswell! Hope this is of help to you

psychiatrists are guessing if they diagnose people under 2.5 years. So far that is the longest I know who had recovered from schizophrenia.

I really don't believe schizophrenia is a disease.

This article has a good explanation of the point I am making:

http://www.Isp s-us.Org/articles/cause_or_cure.Htm

" if one follows the concept of organic illness exclusively, it may tend to reduce socially unacceptable behaviors to quirks and impulses of the brain. The person suddenly hits someone, or yells and curses at them, spends all day in bed, or aggressively overeats. This behavior is then both explained and excused as thought disorder, or malfunctioning of the brain. This concept of medical illness tends, I believe, to decrease the humanity of people with this condition by stating, in effect, that they no longer have the capacity for choice or free will over their own responses, that they are victims whose behavior is determined by the vagaries of the disease.

Are people with schizophrenia responsible for the choices they make in regards to their actions? I have heard of people with this condition terrorizing others, their parents, roommates or caregivers, with excessive demands, impulsive overeating, cursing and physical threats, while this behavior is excused as an organically based disorder for which the "patient" is not responsible. If we consider people as having the power of choice or free will as a sign of their humanity, and we take away the sense of responsibility for their actions from people designated as mentally ill, are we not also depriving them of an essential part of their humanity as well?"

Hmmmmmmmmm

Psychosis
A severe mental disorder, with or without organic damage, characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality and causing deterioration of normal social functioning.

People who experiance that which is unkown to them can cause them to act through primal insticts, as to them accepting resposibility.. its up to them....... is that by the sane mind ever concious? or just out of tune towards mundane reality.. The mind needs to stretch....

your not alone, i too hear voices... i find them quite amusing wandering what they would say, like listening to radio, mostly heard at....
Iam on resperidone for 2 years, i accept this trial as a test for my karma... my frontal lobe will grow even though after the shrinkage it will occur...
Iam more than happy to take this test SLAM....
What kind of voices do you hear? I say the enlightening mantra as i go to sleep... and listen to the voices....

There are a few conclusions, one you absorb the thoughts of others as you pass through the day, as thoughts carry a vibrations around their askashic halos... the next is a clash of multiple egos, the ganapthi mantra helps with this....

It is where one stops to observe themselves.... will allow new doors to open and windows to shine with truth....

Those who occur demons with their problems, i can only advice you to dicipline of the mind... eat healthy, excersise, try yoga or Tai Chi... be one with the mother spirit and the rain of agony will only fall short..

The thoughts i hear are the very rain that falls upon my minds pond, allow it to drop, but let it echo out... and be like a mountain, firm and unchangeable....

Those who pryed their minds open with drugs, some drugs opens the mind while others effect the conciousness.... you will endure the karma for that, but your not alone... many have fallen upon this path and have chossen a life of enlightenment, the search for truth and live in unity with the absolute love of life... is it in the nature of beings to be supersticious or religious.. my friends.. religon and spirituality dont come hand to hand....
but feed your minds and spirit and accept that you only have fallen, only to get back up... and back up you shall go......

My time is short....
best of luck violet ones....
