Early detection or diagnosis of disease positively affects the success of treatment. The earlier we catch a disease, the better. Here are some of the screening tests that women should have:

For women who are sexually active (no matter what age) should have a pap smear (cervical cytology) annually; then every 2-3 years after 3 consecutive negative test results if age 30 or older without high-risk factors.

Mammography should be done for women aged 19-39 years old if they have high-risk of developing breast cancer, like if there is a family history or multiple relatives with breast or ovarian cancer. For women 40 years old and above should have it every 1-2 yrs, or yearly if 50 years old and above.

Lipid profile assessment should be done every 5 years and fasting blood glucose every 3 years when a woman hits age 45 years.

If you have any other questions, you can send me a private message.

Merry Christmas everyone!
