I have been diagnosed with Panic Disorder and i am getting ready to start a new job in a few days and the closer it gets the more nervous i get.I had to quit my last job because it was a 70 mile round trip everyday and living in Upstate NY the drive in the winter with having to drive to work in snow storms and blizzards would send in into panic.I am really scared to have an anxiety attack at my new job especially on the first day.I was just wondering how everyone copes with going to work when they suffer with this condition? Thanks so much,Keith...

I suffer from general anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder and I have a very hard time keeping jobs because of this. I just quit another job last week. I have just started taking valium and it helps a lot I think It will help when I get another job. I was also prescribed a beta blocker to slow my heart when it is racing . I havnt tried it yet but apparantly it helps a lot in times of performance anxiety like giving a speech or going to an interview... So perhaps you could ask your doctor about something like that ... Good luck
