The baby will gain weight even if you don't. You need to eat HEALTHY. It is nutrition the baby needs Smile

Water is the best thing for you: most people forget to drink as much as they should, so if you are drinking a lot, keep up the good work.

If you're just getting though nausea, don't worry. You will start gaining. Just eat when you are hungry. Your body will tell you what you need.

I think a lot of it depends on the shape you were in before you got pregnant.
As long as your eating healthy, Im sure the baby is fine.

I just wanted to bring up something that I thought of last night: diabetics often get thirsty all the time. Are you diabetic or.....I don't know if your doctor has checked for maybe gestational diabetes?

I'm not saying that you have it, it's just something that occurred to me. With how much ice chips I eat every day, most people would tell me I had PICA...or was anemic. But I'm not. I have a perfect 12.0 on my hemoglobin level test.

You shouldn't put on that much weight, Kira. This is about nutrition and what you are eating that is healthy and good for growing a tiny human. If you eat right, you will gain weight.

Realistically, that fetus is going to take from you regardless. Much like a parasite, the fetus will get what it needs and leave you lacking the necessary nutrition for you. Which is why it is important to eat right. Smile You want to function too. Smile

you are doing just fine! dont think just because you are pregnant you have to gain 40 lbs! a healthy weight gain is about 20 lbs and the majority of that will be towards teh end of your 3rd trimester Smile Just stay healthy and you are good. A gf of mine is 40+ weeks (was due the other day) and has only gained about 6+ lbs... but is carrying a fullllly healthy little peanut and she has quite a tummy!
