the Dress & the Suit!

Oh my THE DRESS hahaha I'm having my own design made up!
I've been making some stuff of my own recently - actually making my own patterns from scratch.
I had a pattern for a nice top in a UK size 12 - altered the pattern and sized it up for myself =)
My dad bought me a sewing machine (at my request) for birthday/christmas last year and I'm finally getting round to using it Embarassed

I made up a skirt and top for club wear - I'm really pleased with.

I designed my dress and was going to make it myself - then found out it's unlucky for the bride to make her own dress Confused so I'm seeing a lady after Christmas about making it for me.

Off the shoulder portrait neckline - corset backed with hidden zip at the side seam.
Then a tiered layered tulle skirt, with the top layer having sequins and tiny glass beads (sparkle sparkle) and souffle pinch gathers.
Still not 100% decided about train - may go for a really short one.
4 tiered veil edged with silver glitter thread.

The suit I've picked for Steve is a grey top hat and tails - woo hoo
(he hates tux's and cummerbunds, but I prefer top hat and tails anyway)
a pale blue waistcost and a royal blue cravat.
Our dads and the 2 best men are wearing the same but with pale blue cravats =)

suit

waistcoat (and this color cravat for dads/best men)

grooms color cravat (and all cravats will be this style)

Bridesmaids dresses are long royal blue satin with a pale blue sash

I want calla lillies with gypsolphilia for the corsages and my bouquet.

This is some pics of dress ideas

This is the neckline I want but with a corset/lace up back instead. And I love the idea of a short skirt hidden under the long skirt =)

This skirt has the souffle/pinch gathers. I like the little flower details only I want them coming from the right hip and in blue =)
I also want the skirt in tulle rather than silk/satin/etc

Like this skirt which is in tulle. I prefer the "poufiness" of this skirt.
Then add lots of tiny glass beads and sequins for a more sparkly glittery effect.
