Especially eHealthy
a yeast infection is a fungal infection that happens in the vaginal area
you acn get them several ways, not keeping clean, sex, pregnancy can cause them, antibiotics can cause them. lots of other things too!
signs of a yeast infection are:

itching and irritation in the vagina
redness, swelling, or itching of the vulva (the folds of skin outside the vagina)
a thick, white discharge that can look like cottage cheese and is usually odorless, although it might smell like bread or yeast
pain or burning when urinating or during sex

it can be cleared up with numerous meds and cremes Smile

Yeast Infection.
My yeast infection was caused by taking an antibiotic. I still have the yeast infection. I have had it for a long time. I think that the otc creams work for most people but not all. My gyno gave me a prescription for gynazole-1 and she said that it would probably work. Guess what, it didn't. I am so disgusted with this yeast infection. I have had a hiv test, thyroid test, and a diabetes test, all came out negative. This infection has affected my self esteem. I have had this nonstop yeast infection for years! I finally told my mom and sister about it and it was so embarrasing for me Sad
My gyno and my primary care doctor both do not seem that concerned about this yeast infection. They both told me that 5 % of women will be prone to chronic yeast infections. But there is a difference between a chronic yeast inf. and a nonstop yeast infection. I have never been able to get rid of mine. scared
