I am enrolling with my works insurance plan and need to go to the gyno in a month for the 4 month recheck (dysplasia) I am freaking out about the pre-existing condition clause and whether or not I will be covered.

Plus I think I have a uti (no insurance yet) and that ALWAYS stinks.

Any advice on either would be greatly appreciated

UTI.. drink LOTS of cranberry juice to flush you out.. go to the ER SOON and they can give you antibiotics that are more than likely on the $4 list at walmart. (I've had SEVERAL and they've always been on their list..)

As for insurance, some things aren't considered pre-existing enough to deny you treatment.. call them first.. you can also get insurance supplements that don't care about pre-existing conditions that give you a HUGE discount on office visits and prescriptions.

I do not have the money to go to the doctor and my insurance probably will not kick in for awhile so that is out.

I do not know how insurance works since this is the first time I will be on a plan of my own. I was treated for dysplasia about 7 months ago and need to go back to the gyno soon to recheck for abnormal cells (which my last one showed as well).

if you go to the ER they dont charge you.. they bill you.. and a lot of hospitals have payment plans and/or financial help for those that qualify.

We'll see. The er is expensive here. One visit for my boyfriend cost over 2,000 and they just gave him a shot and let him sit for awhile.
