I never had much experience dealing with eating disorders until I went to college, where I ran into a couple of experiences. I called home one day to find that my 14 year old neighbor had become anorexic, and I found it hard to believe until I went home one weekend and saw her tiny, emaciated, sickly body, and I just felt so sad. I also watched a girl who lived on my floor be admitted to the hospital for anorexia in the middle of the night; that was pretty scary, I must admit.

One thing that really helped me deal with seeing my loved ones go through this is the show Intervention on A&E. It deals with everything from drug addiction to eating disorders, and everything in between. They use a highly qualified team of specialists to help people get on the road to recovery. I work with A&E and I think this show is really important and can touch a lot of people.

It airs every Monday night at 9pm/8c. You can see more information about the show at http://www.aetv.com/intervention.

Have any of you seen this show? How has it affected you?

I like that show alot. I am sorry you had to go through that. It is very scary and sad at the same time. I think people with eating disorders should watch the show and work hard to change their lives for the better.
