Stan, I'm going to be bringing these suggestions into my doctor... but I'm wondering that is an awful lot of meat at one meal a whole pound for one person?

That's what I eat. It's only provided as an example of what I currently consume to show everyone. If you were eating that much you'd spread it out over several. I eat three meals a day now with a snack here and there if I feel like it. Because I work out so much I can eat that much protein, my body needs it to recover. Make sure you read through it carefully because I explain everything in detail. I say in there 1g per every 2 pounds of body weight. If you weigh 90 pounds, that's only 45g per day. If you weigh 180, that's 90g, which is not as much as you think. 1/2 a chicken breast has about 34g of protein, and you have to include any other food you eat that has protein in it. I eat about a pound per day because I work out a lot, but if you don't, that won't be how much you should eat. 1g per every 2 pounds is the suggested intake to start at. I assume you probably weigh around 120 or so, which would be only 60g of protein per day. That's about 1 1/2 chicken breasts. Look at a can of tuna and see how much is in there. That will give you an indication of protein content per amount of meat.

Thank you for answering that. I knew I needed to read and read and re-read the post because I'd miss things... I've always been a little scatterbrained and I learned how to speed read at a young age, which isn't always a good thing.

When I get back to work tomorrow I will print it off I do better with something in my hands to read like that.

Last weigh in I was 196 YUCK!!! I used to be so skinny it was unreal. I don't work out alot but I plan on working it into my daily routine, but still probably not as much as you do it sounds like you do it quite a bit.

What other meats should I include? I need quite a bit of iron in my diet or I get anemic not badly but slightly and I'd like to avoid iron pills as they cause other problems.

I think I'll save the questions until I print this out and really go over it. I'll write my questions after I read it once or twice in the margins. That's how I study too lol and I get all A's in my college courses so it'll work for me.

Ha, sounds fine to me! I learned to speed read too and found myself missing stuff because your mind starts to automatically assume phrases when that might not be the case. I make mistakes typing too because of this because I get my thoughts ahead of my hands. For iron, there is nothing better than at least two eggs per day. Red meat has a lot of iron as well, but don't eat too much of it. Maybe like half a steak for you would be plenty for an entire day. There was something else good for iron, let me think. Spinach and pumpkin seeds are two good ones. Sea vegetables like seaweed has a ton as well, but I don't know how much it costs in general.

Beets are really good for iron but I thought I saw somewhere they aren't really good though. I sometimes buy beets with the 'leaves' on them as the leaves hold a lot of iron.

Pumpkin seeds huh? I'll have to check that out because I assume that might be a decent snack to have a couple of them.

I'm always sneaking spinach into things although I will probably have to find new ways because I usually sneak it in with pastas. Oye... this is going to kill me... I'm part Scillian.. I can make killer cannelonni and sauce to die for (probably literally huh?).

I do the same thing typing... my brain and my hands get away from me all the time. Sometimes I even do it talking.. I think something while I'm chattering away about something else and all of a sudden I'm on a new topic when people listening to me are still scratching their heads at the first because I rattled on.

I avoid root vegetables. You CAN try them if you want, as I say, but be careful with them. I would try eating no more than 1/2 a beet, making maybe a soup out of it, to see what it does to you over a period of 1-2 weeks. Yeah, pumpkin seeds are a good snack, you can get the salted ones too. If you like pasta so much, sorry if you said you're from the UK, I forget, but look for the Ezekiel brand I mentioned. Try it and see what happens. Yeah, I used to be that way too, I honestly got more clear-headed after I got better so I can only wonder how long my body was goofy. When I was really sick I'd actually start to mix Russian in with English and people would be like what the?

It might depend on where you are, but if your supermarket has a natural food section it should be there in the freezer. If not, you should be able to easily find it at a health food store. The pasta as well.

It is about a half hour to any store that has even a slight health foods section and about an hour or more to any health food store lol

Nice this will help so much. Thank you Stan.
But one question. Does water make your sugar drop? I fine that when i drink water it falls. I have told the Dr. but he said it shouldn't because there nothing in it. Is this a problem for anyone else?

Be careful of obsessing. Funny you mention water because I had the same fear myself once! You're just getting worried because of a coincidence. Water will cause no problem. I do, however, drink purified water, not from the sink, it makes me sick. If you're really worried about it, you can buy these super purifiers that take out everything, even chlorine, and then do what I do, buy some mineral drops to return the content to awesome levels. The purifier costs around $100 for the unit and $35 for the refills, which you only need once a year for a family of four and perhaps once every two years for a family of two. The drops are about $25 for a bottle that lasts around a year. Anyway, just letting you know what I do, you don't have to do that at all, I just try for optimum health in all areas.

kool Thank you for all your help, I am so tired of feeling bad that all help is appreciated. I do drink bottle water. and use a faucet filter in my kitchen. But never thought about the mineral drops. I will have to look into that. I do understand about obsessing I been told that sooooo much, but when i told the Dr. what going on and that everyone said i was obsessing He said it not their spells, and that they don't know how i feel. And to do like he saids and i will get better. I am glad to hear you are doing better and this really gives me hope of feeling better some day. The spells have been better since i cut back the amount of carbs i eat at once, but even at that sometimes i get ahold of something that will throw me for a loop. I have found here why that is and how to avoid the lows, I see clearly some more foods i must start leaving out of my diet. Thanks again best to your future, sound like you have a handle on your sugar lows. I am so grateful to everyone for the help. Thanks again

It's something you hear on forums a lot. It means I changed some information in the first page in my original message. Usually people say 'bump' for a message so that the thread itself moves up in the forum so it's easier to see.
