I recently had a miscarriage on Sunday then Monday I had a D&C done...since then I have been at home or the doctors office...just yesterday he gave me the nueva ring to try as a birth control.... From the stories I have read so far you may have symptoms of hair loss or thinning, weight gain, or depression..Im not complaining or anything cause no form of birth control is 100% perfect, but as far as sex wise...Does your partner feel the ring or will it get caught on him??? Confused

yea, it falls out during intercourse, usually pops right around him if you know what I mean. haha. A little embarrassing. My BF said he didn't feel it inside though. Also it starts to fall down during the day which gets a tad annoying. I didn't get any symptoms other than a bit of nausea on the first day. It was having to stick that thing back up there 3 times a day that made me switch back to the pill. Maybe I just have a small frame though. Tampons never give me a problem but I couldn't deal with that thing in there. lol. Good luck!

Thank Ya
lol..yeah thats what I am mainly worried about is if will come out during sex...its gonna be a little weird when he comes out and sees a little ring around his dick...but they gave me a sample to try out and the task of getting it up there is a little odd, but its hard trying to remember to take the pill so not too sure yet..

It always ended up stuck around my hubby lol. If it bothers you, you can take it out during sex, it can be out for up to three hours. Just don't forget to put it back in.

I didn't have any of those side effects, but like any birth control, they are possible.

yea. The hormone dosage is continuous so you don't get that up and down effect like the pill. I just couldn't deal with it. You can try the patch but that has it's problems too. Imagine wearing a band-aid for a week. It gets all funky and dirty around the edges and it's a pain as well, not to mention and oddly increase in the number of blood clots. I am on Ortho Tricyclin Lo and so far so good. I tried Yaz but it made me too emotional and tired ALL the time. I think I tried everything. haha. The patch, the ring, the IUD ***which I DO NOT recommend***, ortho tricyclen *reg dose*, yaz, loestrine, blah blah blah....
One day I will find something worth sticking too.
Good luck with your quest!

Yea that is what I had to do. LOL. But the thing was too uncomfortable for me anyways so I swtiched. Smile Must not forget to put it back in though, although, I wonder if they say you can take it out for up to 3 hours but maybe that could decrease your protection a tad bit? I don't know, maybe.

I have had it for a few weeks now and havent had any problems yet. Though it did get stuck around my boyfriend one time during sex but it wasnt a big deal. It is a little hard putting it back in but I like it way more than taking a pill because I always forget, and I got really bad withdrawal bleeding from the pill. But I love the ring so far.

I'm on nuva ring, but I haven't had any other experience with birth control. I'm on my second month, and am considering switching. My boyfriend could feel it during sex, but I've never had issues with it falling out.

I'm on Nuvaring now, and really like it. It took several months for my body to adjust, though. At first I had bad headaches and nausea. Occasionally I've had breakthrough bleeding, but they say that's natural. Otherwise, pretty awesome! Oh yeah, and I might have gained a little weight, too, but it's hard to say if it's the ring. My boobs are pretty voluptous these days, heheh.

i have been on the pill , the patch ,and now the ring. The ring has by far been my favorite . You cannot even tell its in there , and no-1 else can either. I have never had a problem with it falling out . The patch would get dirty and sometimes fall off ( esp in the summer when i would go to the lake frequently)

I love the Neuva Ring! I have been using it for three months now and it has been the only birth control I have been able to handle the side effects from. I had a little breakthrough bleeding during the first month but other than that it has been great. No problems with it falling out and my boyfriend says he can feel it during sex but if anything it feels better. Honestly i don't even know it's there. Finaly a bith control I can use.

I've been on the ring for alittle over 3 years and I love it! I had tried tons of different pills but would always have breakthrough and I haven't once with the ring. I've had an issue with it coming out a couple times during intercourse which isnt bad in 3 years. As for side effects I never noticed any and can never feel it, it is way worth not having to take a pill everyday! I was told today though that it's being discontinued by my pharmacy...hopefully it isn't true!

I personally didn't like the Nuva Ring. It fell out throught the day and during sexual intercourse. You can remove it for up to 3 hours if your partner feels it or it is discomforting to you during intercourse. But be sure to wash it with warm soapy water before reinsertion and don't forget to put it back in!

Wash with cold water!
My gyno said to be sure I washed it with cold water because warm water would deactivate the hormones!

ring
i've never had the ring come out and i've been on it for almost two months. my bf never feels it during sex but i have once or twice and it made it uncomfortable for me so i just pulled it out, did the deed, and put it in afterwards. So far i've had no side affects other than my breasts have gotten larger which i have no problem with and i have been getting headaches more often which i think may have something to do with the ring. other than that, LOVE IT! i love love love not having to take a stupid pill every damn day! haha

My husband doesn't complain, he says he never feel anything bad and I don't neither...I recommend it!!! The only thing is that I want to get pregnant and I don't know if I can do right away???? Any advice??

I tend to get really bad side effects with Birth Control. I gave up until my doctor suggested this.

The first week or so I had cramps, but my body got used to the ring and now it's fine.

After it got stuck on my boyfriend, we joked that I should have a goldfish next to the bed as a "prize" if he gets the ring stuck!

I now take it out during intercourse, which doesn't change it's effectiveness. The hormones are already in your bloodstream.

Also, do not wash it with warm/hot water. It makes the birth control less effective.

If you tend to get alot of yeast infections, do not use this ring. My roommate had them every few weeks, and my doctor told me it will make any vaginal infections worse if you already tend get them.

The ring does not generally fall out. I find it very effective. I dont keep it in during sex because it can sometimes pop out during sex. You have three hours to leave it out before it must be put in to remain effective.
