Red Rashlike Irritation On Penis--reaction to Condom? Posted: 12-14-07 00:48am
I'm 19, and I recently lost my virginity.
I've had sex twice so far, the first time
we didn't use a condom at all, the second
time we tried several times to get it on
but it didn't fit and kept slipping off
with the movement of my foreskin (I am
uncircumcised) so we didn't end up using
it then either. Both times were very brief
and I pulled out. About a day and a half
after the second time I awoke and noticed
a red irritation on the head and around
the upper shaft of my penis. It looks
something like a rash, little red dots up
close and a general redness from far away.
It doesn't really itch, but it has become
sensitive and somewhat painful to touch.
However, there is nothing on the outside
of my foreskin, or around the base. She
assured me, and I trust her, that she
doesn't have any STDs. But when I saw this
I panicked and my first thought was
genital warts. Is this a reaction to the
condom, being that it wasn't irritated
after the first time we did it(when we
didn't use one at all?) Any help would be
greatly apprecciated.

It could have very well been a reaction to
the condom. I found one instance of this
online, with the same type of rash that
you described. If you used a condom with
some type of spermacide in it, then you
may be having some type of reaction to
that. Or it could just be a reaction to
friction that you are not used to, and the
whole ordeal with the condom, despite it
having spermacide or not. Try using
moisturizing lotions that you know will
not irritate your penis any further. I
hear Lupiderm is a good choice. I would go
see a doctor if it gets worse or doesn't
get better at all.
Please note that I probably don't know
what I'm talking about and I am just
stating my opinion. Don't take anything I
say too close to heart because I do not
want to be spreading false information.
