Hi there,

What an embarrassing topic to talk about...but I need some advice, as I'm going to seek the doc soon if this doesn't go away. I was on a medication called Cefuroxime not to long ago to treat an infection in my lungs due to Bronchitis. Well, there are side effects to this medication for women such as Yeast Infections/Vaginal Discharge. Well that all happened, I treated with monistat ointment and it was so painful it was unbelievable. The infection is gone and healed, but I was left with a few small bumps around my labia area, and down lower by my vaginal opening. Around the opening seems to have alot more bumps and I'm worried what it may be. It seems like flat warts. It doesn't hurt, but occasionally itches and bleeds. I've went back to using Monistat to try and treat it, this is now day 1 hoping for better results as the days follow. But I have no idea what this is, and I know neither me or my bf have STD's as we've both been tested. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
So very sorry no one replied to your question....I just found it today. I do hope you will go to a primary care physican or your OBGYN, or a planned parent hood clinic and have yourself checked. What you are describing does not sound like Monostat is gonna get rid of it. It sounds as though you ahve genital warts, which is a form of herpes. I read where you said neither of you have an STD and both been tested, but how long ago was this? Just to be safe, I'd have this looked at and treated by a professional.

Hi
This does sound like genital warts but they are not a form of herpes, genital warts are caused by the virus HPV. But yeast infections can cause sores, so maybe your infection was so severe that these sores cannot be treated with the monistat. As embarrassing as it is, i would see the doctor so that you can be sure and get it treated. Godd luck
